BENDYWOOD

Bendywood is natural solid wood that has been pre-dipped in a special process. Its main advantage is that it can be bent when cold. Bendywood is available in the following types of wood: beech, oak, maple, ash, cherry (American) and walnut (European and American). The patented bending wood has been around since 1917, and the Bendywood brand since 2003. We have been the exclusive representative of this wood in Switzerland since 2019 and our experiences with it have been resoundingly positive. In particular, it ideally complements our range of techniques for producing curved wooden handrails.

A curved handrail made of
solid wood doesn’t have to be expensive

As with steam-bent wood, the structure of the wood (the grain) always follows the curve. This results in a natural and organic look that sets it apart from other manufacturing techniques. In many cases, Bendywood removes the need for precise measurements, as we shape the handrail into its final form directly on site during installation. Since this saves us time and effort, we can offer Bendywood handrails to private clients at very attractive prices. The following curved handrail profiles are available: 30 mm, 40 mm, 42 mm, 45 mm, 48 mm and 60 mm.

We offer a one-stop service from initial consultation through to final installation. Bendywood can also be obtained from us as raw material. However, despite all its advantages, Bendywood also has some special characteristics that need to be taken into account to ensure optimum results. Our specialists will be happy to advise you. Further information about this exciting material can be found at www.bendywood.com.
